Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill is a university town in North Carolina, home to UNC–Chapel Hill and home to 60,000 residents. Research Triangle Park (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel combined) has a population of 2 million. Given the proximity to universities and business centers, it offers diversity and culture with a small town feel.

Local business etiquette and CUSTOMS

Small town charm with southern hospitality, with the benefit of culture and arts due to multiple universities and businesses in the area.

Western attire and customs apply. Refined business casual will be appropriate in most cases (pant suits, dresses, etc…). While the area is small in size, many businesses are highly regarded and are active nationally and internationally.  Prepare and dress professionally and somewhat conservatively.

RDU Taxi and Uber are safe and accessible options from the airport and to/from meetings and accommodation. Your hotel may also provide shuttle within a designated area.

Volunteer and personal travel to Honduras, Brazil, Peru, Morocco, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, France, and Japan has enriched my life and cultivated a passion to make a positive difference.

My graduate training in International Relations with an emphasis on International Business (University of Texas) with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies and Marketing Communications (University of Wisconsin) has helped me to regard global business problems and opportunities from a well-rounded perspective. When not off on a philanthropic adventure, I work in Market Research and Digital Insights and have recently launched a boutique consultancy. JSI Marketing focuses on qualitative research and Digital Insights and leverages my client-side perspective based upon experience with multi-national organizations – The Clorox Company and Mary Kay, Inc.
